CPU usage of WPA TKIP

Hello,

Iam wondering wether encrypting traffic using wpa-tkip will hit the cpu of
my system?
Simple WEP encryption is done on the prism cards hardware.
Does this also mean, that TKIP will not eat more system ressources
(especially CPU usage) then WEP?
