Using hostapd ctrl_iface to set configuration parameters

Hi hostapd list,

Since commit 31b79e11 (hostapd: Allow config parameters to be set through 
ctrl_iface) it is possible to set configuration parameters from hostpad_cli.  
Is there a way to commit the configuration change (e.g. SSID change) to the 
interface hardware at run-time?
