I've just checked but the hw setup also depends on ieee80211n. Maybe
it makes more sense to introduce a new per bss config parameter
(disable11n) to suppress the HT IEs in beacons and probe responses?

Additionally we would have to mask out the HT flags in the STA entry
to force the driver to not use mcs rates for it.

Anything else I didn't think of yet?
