wpa and wifi bridge

Hello

I can get a SMC 2682W ethernet-wifi bridge. It's quite old :
it's a 11b device that doesn't support wpa.

If my computer runs wpa_supplicant, can it connect to a
WPA protected wifi access point thru this bridge ?

  computer with     eth   SMS2682W   wifi    wifi AP
 wpa_supplicant  <------>  bridge  <------>  with WPA
