Getting information from a received packet's header

It's a Netgear MA401 pcmcia card in a netgear MA301 pci adapter.
The versions are:
NIC: id=0x8008 v1.0.0
PRI: id=0x15 v0.3.0
STA: id=0x1f v1.7.1

Well, you've been lucky to have the promiscuous mode up and running then.
As far as I know, that mode is not supported by all cards, and those that
do support it, have not announced said support in their specifications. So
it seems a matter of test&fail to discover which cards do support it, and
which do not.

Could you share what wireless card model are you using, that supports
promiscuous mode?
