hostscan and scan_channels

I've noticed that when using "hostscan" even if associations are not broken
there is a certain time (approx 1 sec) of loss of trasmission. This is due
to channel hopping I guess. Since I'm just interested into scanning the
channel I'm currently using I tried to set a mask with scan_channels not
to loose conectivity, but this doesn't seem to work with hostscan.

would it be possible to have a non-destructive scan withouth loss of link
anyway (or at least a shorter loss)?
