It _is_ being built as a module, right? So, yes...you need to rebuild
your kernel.

Subject: smc2532w-b hostap linux [revised a little]

Heya,

SMC2532W-B uses the Intersil Prism 2.5 Chipset.
http://www.wi-fiplanet.com/news/article.php/2171841

I just purchased an SMC2532W-B wireless PC Card, and I am having some
issues getting it configured in linux. I would like to use it as an
access point, but I can't seem to get the hostap pccard module to
work... "unresolved symbols" each time I try to compile it with my
kernel. I have PCMCIA support built into my kernel.

I believe it could be something with that the SMC2532W-B is not listed
in the hostap_cs.conf ? Has anyone got this card working in linux as an
access point?

I added this to my hostap_cs.conf then compiled the source to see if it
would work this way, but I received the same error as I had when this
entry was not in the conf file.

card "SMC2532W-B EliteConnect Wireless Adapter"
   manfid: 0xd601, 0x0005
   bind "hostap_cs"

One other side note, I read something online about the modules having
unresolved symbols because they needed to be rebuilt also with my new
kernel config. here's the link to it:
http://sisyphus.iocaine.com/pipermail/hostap/2003-August/004004.html

Any ideas would be great,

As always, thanks for the help.

-Donnie
