managed HostAP

Hi at all,

I want my HostAP on a Debian machine to communicate with my other WLAN-AP.
I typed:

iwconfig wlan0 ap XX:XX:XX... (MAC).

When I control it with "iwconfig" the adapter wlan0 says "Mode: managed,
Access Point: 44:44:44..."

Where`s the problem?
