That's completely wrong.  Correct is only your implication that NIC ID
8008 is Prism 2 chipset.

The latest flashable firmware for Prism 2 (of those that I've seen) is
1.4.9 (s1010409.hex) and the latest volatile firmware is 1.5.6
(r1010506.hex).

As for the version numbers, they are described in this document:

There may be the same firmware version for Prism 2 and Prism 2.5 (e.g.  
1.4.9 exists for both).  However, the firmware for Prism 2 chipset has "1"  
as the second character of the filename, and Prism 2.5 has "f" there.
