the rangelan-ds cards work perfectly in linux with the hostap drivers. I've
been using them for over a year now. however, not all laptops support
3.3v pcmcia cards.

if it works under windows but not linux (assuming the same machine), i would
venture pcmcia-cs can't set vcc to 3.3v for some reason even tho the hardware
is capable of it. i've never experienced this before, usually i'm stuck
with older 5v/12v slots that just don't electrically support 3.3v operation.

the plastic ridgeson the front end of the rangelan is spaced differently
than most other pcmcia cards. apparently this is to prevent sticking a
3.3v only card into a 5v/12v slot.

the culprit here isn't hostap, it's your pcmcia configuration. if you're
using the kernel pcmcia system, try the userland pcmcia or vice versa.

forcing this card with ignore_cis_vcc is not a safe idea
