ad-hoc works but master does not

what is your wired network address?  i'm sure you have an eth0.
i'd guess your problem has to do w/ your routing table.
here is what mine looks like:

i have a DSL pppoe connection to the net.  i've setup my wlan w/ a 
192.168.1.xxx network scheme.

i use nocatauth to manage the firewall.  it is really a cool setup. :)
