firmware to RAM question

Sorry, forgot to include subject line.  Here was my post:
 
 
I am going to load new firware to ram using prism2_srec.
 
Now, when the power goes off to the machine or I reboot.  Do I need to
load this to the card every time because it is ram.
Or does it somehow know and keep the firmware somewhere?
