Well, I have 3000 lines combined with ALL of those services and they are
not blocking anything. At least not yet. As a matter of fact, I am
sending this email through a VPN using Cox at home right now.

Wrong.

ISP's are starting to block ports needed for VPN's.
How do I know? I have worked for MediaOne, RoadRunner, AOLTimeWarner,
AT&T Broadband, AT&T @Home/work.

There are no problems with using VPNs and cable modems. Not to say you
might have to take certain things into account when using the
combination. Just that for the most part VPNs work with Cable Modems
just like they work with DSL or any other internet connection.

never
set up either vpn or a ssh connection before, my knowledge on these
matters is
limited.
