After somelengthy discussions and evaluations, we settled on the Sygate
(www.sygate.com) product line. Especially from the view of a corporation
supporting many incoming VPN - access users, it provices the right mix of
security features and administration tools for us.

Subject: Personal firewall / Intrusion detection
Has anyone evaluated the existing personal firewall and/or host based
intrusion detection products on the market today??? Is there any web
resource out there with any info??? I was told that ICSA will be
certifying one or more personal firewall products and will make the
announcement at the end of this month.
I've been looking at several products(enterprise versions), BlackICE and
CyberArmor seem to be the standouts.
BlackICE is taking a lot of heat lately from GRC for a recent trojan
issue.
GRC has been trashing BlackICE for a long time though, not familiar with
the history there ...
Are any of you requiring your remote access users to run a specific
personal firewall? Do you suggest they use one of the freeware personal
firewalls?
Feedback please,
