Unfortunately, I do not have the answer you are looking for, but the answer
that was given to you is wrong. You can use these firewalls to set up a LAN
to LAN connection over the internet as long as you have Inet access at both
locations.
I know for the Pix that you can use Pre-shared keys, or if you wish, you can
get the keys through a company such as verisign. If you want more info on
config for firewall to firewall VPN, there is a wealth of info on the cisco
site. If you are on the SmartNEt plan, you should have the poassword to
their site which should get you all the info you need. Sorry I can't help
more, but hope this helps at all.

Rob

One would not ordinarily deploy a PIX with a SonicWall, since they're both
firewalls. You can learn more about configuring the PIX at
<http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/iaabu/pix/index.htm>, and
more
about the SonicWall at
<http://www.sonicwall.com/Support/sonic_software.html>

Good luck!

Dana
