Split Tunneling

I use an Altiga C20 with client 2.2.  Question on Split Tunneling:

Customers will use the VPN to connect to a remote site.  While connected to that site can they access local file and print services?

My understanding is yes because of split tunneling.  The user will have a tunnel 100% of the time that is encrypted for remote services and they will have another tunnel that is unencrypted for local services.  Is my analysis correct?
