The default timeout for network communications in osiris is set to 10
seconds. Instead of pushing data across disparate sites, it might be
wiser to set up MD's in each localized network.
Regardless, if you want to bump that timeout value up, you should be
able to do so by editing the DEFAULT_CONNECT_TIMEOUT_SECONDS definition
in src/libosiris/socketapi.c and recompiling.
