[osiris] osiris 4.2.2 hangs during config push on AIX 5.3

I've compiled and installed osiris 4.2.2 on an AIX 5.3 server.
Everything runs fine until I try to push a config to a host--then the
console will hang.
 
A host will respond to a status query but show no db or config.  The
server is running AIX 5.3-05-04 (current) with the Linux tools version
of openssl.
 
Any ideas?
