I dont think this is an officially known bug, but I have run into this
once or twice.  The only workaround I have found is to kill -9 the hung
osirismd scan process.

It shouldnt be a problem to fix, it is just a matter of getting more
people to work on the code base.  The main developer is on hiatus, but
patches are graciously accepted.
