In reality, this change makes impossible to stay with 2.4 release.
As I explained, it is absolutely impossible to update scanners at once; for
example, I can not change osiris version if new daemon is not compatible
with old scannerand vice versa. An idea of 2.4-release was to keep
_compatible_ version, and merge critical updates into it. 2.4.4 can not be
incompatible with 2.4.2 - it lost the whole idea.
2.4.2 works on Solaris without _any_ problems, so there was not any need to
update it. If someone have a problems with GCC 3.0, just post (as I
proposed) binary version for Solaris 2.7 (which works with 2.7 - 2.9). We
can start 2.5-release, but there is too little differences in versions to do
it.
