Pablos is actually starting to work on the crypto specification now, 
starting with the design for securing the transport of scan-data.   I 
was also wondering what people thought of using PGP keys for 
notifications?  Basically, one of the notification mechanisms is email, 
and it would make sense to keep a list of public keys and addresses to 
push notifications to.

I will be starting on updating the developer docs, they are very very 
old and lack details.  Also, has anybody incorporated pthread detection 
with automake/autoconf before?  All of the configure.in scripts I've 
seen that deal with pthreads look hacked at.
