So, wanted to understand, whether there will be any interaction between dhcp server and the port authorization by 802.1x? I read somewhere, only after the port is authenticated by 802.1x, IP address will be assigned to the clients and layer 3 communication will start between the client and switch. That’s a question for the internal implementation of the switch. I don’t see why the question is being asked here. This list isn’t a “how to write a switch” discussion list.<br>

Agree. But given all the other questions from Sarah it seems she is using hostap to do the 802.1x port authorization.<br>
