<br>is done in the firmware. If I remember correctly, Prism2/2.5/3 supports<br>short preamble, so I would expect it to use short preamble if the AP<br>supports this.</blockquote><div><br>Just to close the thread...I confirmed using Ethereal that when the cards do not associate to any access point, their firmware keeps sending probe request frames. Those should be sufficient for what we are trying to achieve.
