dear mailing list, i just upgraded my kernel to linux-2.4.25-pre7. I use a fancy tool called 'xnetstrength' available from freshmeat.net for signal strength analysis. it worked fine i THINK before i upgraded the kernel from 2.4.24. i am not sure if the kernel upgrade affects this, however now when i do iwconfig my link quality and such displays inaccurate readings, actually it doesnt display anything, just 0/92 Link Quality:0/92 Signal level:-40 dBm Noise level:-24 dBm /proc/net/wireless displays a zero for my signal as well. xnetstrength relies on the readings to accurately display the signal. in Windows 98 the senao card drivers report a 40-46% signal, which is enough for linux should be displaying 32/92 up to 50/92 link quality. so what gives? what killed my link quality reading. ive noticed many others have this problem too. please advise. thanks in advance, napes!irie@networks.org _____________________________________________________________ Proud member of United Networks Email, visit or report abuse at http://networks.org/
