Thanks for quick response.
 
Linux 3.18 and ath10k are in use.  
 
No other configuration has been done at application application level.  With iw tool, the just the configuration gets verified. 
 
Is this driver constrained to work in this way ?  Is it possible to remove it, if it is constrained ?
