ACL and wired connection

Hi,

 Main ACL(Access control list) function - *hostapd_allowed_address* , is
called from handle_auth (called from ieee802_11_mgmt), basically wireless
mode of operation. Does this mean, this concept of MAC address based
allowing and denying is not there for wired connection(client connected via
wire to switch)?
