Wifi device

Hi all,

        I would like to know :
             1) If wpa_supplicant is the only module available for all the
OS to act as a Wifi Client Device?

              2) If Hostapd is the only module available for all the OS to
act as a wifi Access point device?

              3) Where can i download the latest source code of the both?
