I wish this feature wouldn't have been invented in the first place. Do
you know that this buys you *NO* security at all?  The SSID is
transferred in the clear anyways, no matter the beacon contains it or
not.

Just run Kismet while in the proximity of a WIFI network with hidden
SSIDs. As soon as a client associates you'll see the SSID on your
Kismet-running laptop.
