Has anyone configure HostAPd nl80211 for Fedora 18

Hi Dan,

Thank you very much for the last observation, that has corrected the link error
and I did not get the number of type definition conflicts on Fedora.

I did the following:-
make cleanmakemake installls -l $(which hostapd)
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 3348471 May  9 00:35 /usr/local/bin/hostapd

That has resolved the issue of not locating the driver.

# hostapd -v
hostapd v2.0
User space daemon for IEEE 802.11 AP management,
IEEE 802.1X/WPA/WPA2/EAP/RADIUS Authenticator
Copyright (c) 2002-2012, Jouni Malinen <j at w1.fi> and contributors

Now I am getting:-
# hostapd ./hostapd-naipsHotSpot.conf
Configuration file: ./hostapd-naipsHotSpot.conf
nl80211: Failed to set interface wlan0 into AP mode
nl80211 driver initialization failed.

I guess that I have a very basic config file:-

# cat hostapd-naipsHotSpot.conf
#change wlan0 to your wireless device
interface=wlan0
#driver=iwlwifi
#driver=cfg80211
driver=nl80211
ssid=naipsHotSpot
channel=1

Best Regards

Naipaul Ojar

May you have a blessed Day.
