I don't mind either way, it was not clear to me from the announcements how,
where and in what form the release candidates were actually being released.

Yep, and before that the distribution packagers first need to know how and
where to pick up the code.

I, and the Debian/Ubuntu package helpers (uscan - a tool to regularly check a
project release location for new releases), have been programmed to look for
releases at: http://w1.fi/releases. Either I did not pay enough attention to
the various release plan announcements or it just wasn't explained in simple
enough terms for me to understand that the release point had changed. So I
asked and you answered, thanks :)
