There is little difference between Prism 2, Prism 2.5 and Prism 3 from
the programming point of view.  That's the chipset names, whereas the
driver only works with the MAC component directly, which should be the
same.

I don't know if the chipset used in USB devices is Prism 2.5 or Prism 3,
but I'm quite sure it's not Prism 2.  I would avoid using "3" in the
driver name.  prism_usb sounds reasonable to me.
