I am not sure why I am not able to use a shared public certificate with
wpa_supplicant.

Any help, pointers is appreciated. In the output from running
'wpa_supplicant -Dwext -ieth1 -c
/etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf' I am recieving an error of the
following:

wpa_driver_wext_associate
ioctl[SIOCSIWFREQ]: Invalid argument
Association request to the driver failed
Setting authentication timeout: 5 sec 0 usec

My system specs are as follows:
Dell Inspiron 9400/E1705
Intel Core Duo Processor T7200 (2GHz/667 FSB/4MB L2 Cache)
1GB Dual Channel 667MHz DDR2
