What is difference between WDS and IAPP

Hi all:

I'm confusing on my subject, I directly think WDS is a protocol between
AP and IAPP also too. Except WDS have limitation that must same
channel / encryption and recode the MAC address each other but IAPP no
need to do it. I am curious that what is main differnet between WDS and
IAPP?

Any command whould be appreciation.
