Can't authenticate: WPA, RaLink 2500 (NdisWrapper), SpeedTouch 580 router

As a data point, I have the same router, and I was not able to use it in WPA
mode, not even on Windows XP. So I suspect there is something wrong with it.
A very very strange data is that the (ridicolous) manual I received state
that the default PSK key is the same as the default WEP key, which I cannot
parse very well... I am using it in WEP-only and it works.
