Seems like one of the problem was that Hostapd was compiled against
incorect madwifi sources (against latest CVS instead of madwifi source
from Kanotix).

But even after fixing that I found that it works not regularly. Sometimes
it works, sometimes it not :/ Seems like WinXP supplicant problem, anyway.

Here is the tcpdump from the Ethereal (Netgear is the AP):
   Source Destination Protocol Info
 1 Netgear_23:02:7c 00:11:95:14:3b:33 EAP Request, Identity [RFC2284]
 2 00:11:95:14:3b:33 Netgear_23:02:7c EAPOL Start
 3 Netgear_23:02:7c 00:11:95:14:3b:33 EAP Request, Identity [RFC2284]
 4 00:11:95:14:3b:33 Netgear_23:02:7c EAP Response, Identity [RFC2284]
 5 Netgear_23:02:7c 00:11:95:14:3b:33 EAP Request, PEAP [Palekar]
 6 00:11:95:14:3b:33 Netgear_23:02:7c EAP Response, PEAP [Palekar]
 7 Netgear_23:02:7c 00:11:95:14:3b:33 EAP Request, PEAP [Palekar]
 8 00:11:95:14:3b:33 Netgear_23:02:7c EAP Response, PEAP [Palekar]
 9 Netgear_23:02:7c 00:11:95:14:3b:33 EAP Request, PEAP [Palekar]
10 00:11:95:14:3b:33 Netgear_23:02:7c EAP Response, PEAP [Palekar]
11 Netgear_23:02:7c 00:11:95:14:3b:33 EAP Request, PEAP [Palekar]

Note that WPA-PSK works fine.

Ivan Dubrov.
