Yes you are right. I am not a kernel programmer (just a Linux user). But 
I mean the driver maintenance, why to maintenance things twice. But as 
you say I may be wrong. You are a programmer and the driver author, so 
you know the best.

I don't want to advise, I don't even have enough skills to advise 
anybody. These are my personal thoughts only. Actually I want to thank 
you for all the effort you've put into Linux and Linux Wireless.

Basically I need both drivers (orinoco and hostap) but the live with 
them in same system has become difficult, but that is not a driver fault 
as you say. Maybe I am frustrated and that's why I am crying for these 
things.

Orinoco driver has been the only driver for Hermes/Prism cards for a 
long time now, but the things has been changed, the hostap has become 
part of the kernel. I hope the WPA functionality would also be part of 
the orinoco driver in near future.
