Implementation question: 802.1X port

Hi all


I am trying to see where implementation of uncontrolled/controlled port 
is implemented. Going deep in the source code i just noticed it could be 
placed on madwifi driver (i am using this driver for my atheros wireless 
card) and not in the hostapd source code. is my guess  correct?
