I am having problems getting hostap to work with my PCMCIA card (actually,
it's a CF card in a PCMCIA adapter).

When I insert the card, there are no messages in dmesg. All I see is this:

Yenta: CardBus bridge found at 0000:02:06.1 [103c:088c]
Yenta: ISA IRQ mask 0x00b8, PCI irq 10

Running lsmod shows not hostap files loaded either. I know that I need to
modify the hostap_cs.conf file, so I ran cardctl ident and received the
following:

  product info: "AmbiCom", "WL1100C 802.11b CF-Card", "2.2"
  manfid: 0xd601, 0x0002
  function: 6 (network)

So, based on this information, I added the following to hostap_cs.conf:

card "AmbiCom WL1100C 802.11b CF-Card"
   manfid 0xd601, 0x0002
   bind "hostap_cs"

Finally, I commented out all other references to this manfid in hostap_cs.conf
and /etc/pcmcia/conf.

I even tried adding an alias for hostap_cs in modules.conf. But, nothing I
have done seems to get the card recognized. I know that the card is Prism
based and I have had it successfully working with wlan-ng. But, I cannot seem
to get hostap working.

Here is some additional information that might be helpful:

Mandrake 10.1 Official
custom compiled kernel 2.6.8.1-12
Wireless extensions installed and working (system also has an atheros card
that is working fine with the madwifi drivers)

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve
