Hmm.. Can you please send an example configuration file showing this
issue? I'm not completely sure what you mean since following examples
work in my tests:

    psk="1234"678"

PSK (ASCII passphrase) - hexdump_ascii(len=8):
     31 32 33 34 22 36 37 38                           1234"678


    psk="1234#678"

PSK (ASCII passphrase) - hexdump_ascii(len=8):
     31 32 33 34 23 36 37 38                           1234#678
