changing eth0 to wlan0

Hi,

I just setup a new ubuntu box with v5.04.  Compiled hostap and have
got everything working, that is I can talk thru my wpa ap.  The only
thing is I have to use eth0.  my card doesn't come up as wlan0.  In
the past I thought I changed this by adding:

echo "alias wlan0 hostap_pci" >> /etc/modules.conf

but on ubuntu it doesn't have that file.  Where/how do I change eth0 to wlan0?
