hostapd wpa_psk_file doesn't work ...

I've never used hostapd, but wpa_supplicant requires plain-text 
passphrases to be enclosed in quotes, whereas hexadecimal numeric values 
should not be quoted -- it seems that abcdefgh is a plain-text 
passphrase? If so, then maybe you should add double-quotes.
