It is unclear whether the registers are mapped correctly since init
command fails and SWSUPPORT0 reigster does not work properly. Has the
patch for the multi-func card fixed to make sure that COR is set
correctly to get the card in I/O mode?

Depends on what part is not configured properly.. It is available quite
soon, but at least the registers have to match and the card may need
some setup (e.g., that COR mentioned above).
