dhcpcd.exe: wrong interface name ""

Debian SID 2.6.4
wireless pci card dlink dwl-520

I'm so close to getting this to work but I'm doing something wrong.  I followed the howto here:

Everything is fine until this part:

# dhcpcd -t 10 -d wlan0
dhcpcd: MAC address = 00:0d:88:4b:df:69
/etc/dhcpc/dhcpcd.exe: line 49: .: filename argument required
.: usage: . filename
dhcpcd.exe: wrong interface name ""

I'm not sure where to go from here.  Surely this is of my own doing as it's the first time I've ever attempted to get wireless working under any OS.  Thanks for any help.
