Could you please send 'dmesg' output after having run that hostap_pci
command? It looks like there is some sort of kernel crash which
terminates rmmod process.

If you are using Linux 2.4.x kernel, please also pipe the dmesg output
through ksymoops to resolve symbols into more usable form.
