here's the dmesg I obtained after I did a "rmmod
hostap_pci hostap ; modprobe hostap_pci"

For my case, it looks like the card is loaded but the
driver couldn't see it (lot's of no such device
error):

# ./prism2_srec -g wlan0 ak010100.hex
srec summary for ak010100.hex
Component: 0x0015 1.1.0 (primary firmware)

ioctl[PRISM2_IOCTL_HOSTAPD]: No such device
Missing wlan component info
Could not read wlan RIDs

# ./prism2_srec -r wlan0 rf010803.hex
srec summary for rf010803.hex
Component: 0x001f 1.8.3 (station firmware)

ioctl[PRISM2_IOCTL_HOSTAPD]: No such device
Missing wlan component info
Could not read wlan RIDs
