Basic Q's re wpa_supplicant

No, but have now.  With the attached .config (after deleting: 
CONFIG_DRIVER_HERMES=y; CONFIG_DRIVER_MADWIFI=y; CONFIG_PCSC=y).

Will report back with progress, but need to travel into Uni before then.
