I bought one last spring, it does even in a PCI2.1 slot of my pII-class machine 
(BX chipset of some years ago).

Had trouble with smp but nothing card-specific it seems, and it could even be 
sorted out but I have had no time to test ever since.

I've not heard anything about netgear switching to some different chipset but I 
wouldn't bet on it :)
