HostAP code question

hello,

I am trying to look through the code of hostap, and I noticed that there is a reference several times to the structure: iwr. I am not familiar with Unix environment so excuse my question if it is trivial, but what exactly is iwr? is there anywhere I can read its code and/or header files?

I am trying to access the bit-level of the physical layer of the 802.11b headers.
