SIFS+ACK delays and BasicRate of WiFi test????

I was wondering is there a way to set SIFS+ACK delays
(http://www.personaltelco.net/index.cgi/MaximumDistance) with 'iwpriv wlan0
set_rid_word 64691 <val>' like you described in your reply to BasicRate of
WiFi test.. We have 50 km link with SENAO 200mW cards which is performing
very badly. Is there a "soft" way (not using amplifiers)  To improve the
performance
