prism2 card hanged

Hi to all,
I have the following problem with a solution, but I don't know why it
worked.
I have a Prism2.5 pci chipset on my vaio r600 (=r505) and I am using the
prism2_pci module (lates cvs on a 2.6, but on 2.4 yields the same) and
my wireless card used to hang after some random time (i.e no
transmitting anymore). Any kind reset would help for a couple of
seconds, after what it would hang again. So I tried randomly some
options, and finally a 		
  iwpriv wlan0 alc 0 
would help. I have no idea why. Any of you??
